Gaia Herbs Lactation Support contains a blend of herbs that are known to support healthy breast milk production for nursing mums. Fenugreek seed, fennel seed, and raspberry leaf have all been used traditionally to support healthy lactation as well as offer digestive support for baby. 

Blessed Thistle
Not to be confused with Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum), Blessed Thistle is native to the Mediterranean and is a member of the Aster family, Asteraceae, that was grown in the gardens of monks. It is used to make bitter tonics and liqueurs.

Fennel
Native to the Mediterranean region, it now grows abundantly in many regions of the world. Its history however, has its roots in ancient Greek and Roman times. The Latin word “foeniculum,” or “little hay” and is said to describe fennels feathery leaves, but may also describe a traditional use of feeding it to the goats to increase the quantity and fat content of their milk. 

Fenugreek
Fenugreek is a member of the Leguminosae family indigenous to the Mediterranean area and now primarily cultivated in India, China and the Middle East. Its Latin name means “Greek Hay” which is a reference to its use to fortify cattle feed due its highly nutritive properties. Traditional Chinese Medicine classifies (hu lu ba) as a yang tonic; especially for kidney yang deficiency. In Ayurvedic Medicine it is called Chandrika or Medhika.

Marshmallow
This plant is native to Europe and parts of Asia and is part of the Malvaceae family. The garden varieties are called HollyHocks. The whole plant contains a tacky, slimy substance known as mucilage, with the root of 2-3 year old plants containing the highest percentage. 

Directions

Adults take 1 capsule 3 times daily between meals.
