Bodywise Herbal Dispensary, located in Nelson, has proudly served our community for three decades, assisting individuals in achieving optimal health and vitality. 

As a naturopath/medical herbalist-owned and operated establishment, we address acute symptoms as well as chronic health concerns. Ultimately, our mission is to promote wellness.

We dedicate time to consider each individual's unique needs and budgetary considerations.

Collectively, Colleen, Julia, and Marcia possess extensive experience in addressing various health conditions, both over-the-counter and in clinic settings. They employ a holistic approach to health through the judicious use of combinations of liquid or tableted herbal medicines, nutritional supplements, Bach flowers, and skincare products. 

Should the situation necessitate more comprehensive care, referrals to appropriate practitioners within Nelson can be arranged.

    Colleen Davies, Owner, Naturopath & Medical Herbalist BNHM

    Colleen completed her Bachelors degree in Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine in 2016. She came to Bodywise in 2021 after moving to Nelson from her role as dispensary Naturopath at The Herb Centre in Christchurch. After a few years of working with the previous owner of Bodywise, Sally Grant, she was given the opportunity to become the new owner of Bodywise along with her husband Ryan Davies (a.k.a Mr. Bodywise) .
    Colleen has worked within the health industry for a good chunk of her adult life and remains fully invested in continuously updating her knowledge on the latest research while drawing on her extensive knowledge of the traditional roots of herbal medicine. Colleen is a self confessed plant addict, and this is probably why she ended
    up a herbalist.

  • Naturopath-Medical-Herbalist

    Julia Van Berkel, Manager, Naturopath & Medical Herbalist BNATMED

    Julia completed her Bachelor in Natural Medicine via the South Pacific College in Auckland 2021 and has worked at Bodywise since finishing her studies. 

    She developed her love for herbalism over the 17 years she lived in France and Italy, intrigued by the fact that every village in Italy had a herbal dispensary, she started to develop her knowledge through foraging and utilising the abundant wild herbs at hand in Provence and the Tuscan hills. Julia's quest for knowledge on all things nutritional, naturopathic and herbal is a continuous passion (bordering on obsession). 

  • Marcia Montgomery, Diploma in Naturopathy, Diploma in Herbal Medicine.
